Putting the finishing touches on my Halloween costume in time for my friend's party tonight. It's looking mighty homemade (I'm a sewing novice after all).
How homemade, you ask?
This homemade:
(This picture does not do justice to how shabby-looking my freehanded felt insignia is.)
- Buuut I figure as long as it's recognizable as a Star Trek Science uniform that's the main point, right? I'll be like the one pitiable kid who comes knocking wearing a floral sheet with the eyes cut out. And anyway, I expect a crazy dread 'do and heavy sixties makeup will take some of the attention away from my crooked sewing.
The one part I am inordinately pleased with are the trousers, actually, though all I did was shorten a pair of black trousers I bought secondhand. They look really neat with the black boots I bought (also secondhand).
Now the question is if I'm going to wear a corset underneath in tribute to ol' Shatner (I mean a dress corset, not the sexy kind). It won't make a difference (the two layers of black T-shirt and the blue shirt are too lumpy to really show off my figure anyway) but don't you think it would be... right?
