Still not quite finished

I have finally FINALLY FINALLY figured out how to smoothly play 10bit HD on this dying computer (it involved a billion new codecs, a new player, a lot of scary reconfiguration, halting just about every non-essential process, setting the el-configuration to High Performance, and also physically balancing the computer between my knees so that it wouldn't get overheated quite so fast), which means there are a lot of episodes and movies I'm now actually able to watch!
So first thing, I rewatched the new Lupin episode. Obviously. Ohmansovisuallyalluringohmydearlord.
So although I know I spewed out a huge text post about my initial reaction, here's a more shallow one. With lots of images.
I'M JUST REALLY EXCITED ABOUT THESE TEXTURES EVERYWHERE OKAY.

(I love how ridiculous Fujiko's wedding dress is. And how intricate that pattern is.)
You know what, I don't care what Fujiko wears (or doesn't wear) as long as there are TEXTURES EVERYWHERE.
AND IT'S NOT JUST THE CLOTHES. EVEN THE DARKNESS HAS TEXTURE.

(Random mentioning of how I enjoy Lupin's nose in this series.)
And BEST OF ALL there's that bit where the hallucinogenic drugs dissolve in the ocean and AAAA IT'S SO TRIPPY AND BEAUTIFUL.

(Also I love how exaggerated Lupin's animation is at times, you can tell he's a little more unhinged than everybody else).
Okay so forgetting TEXTURES AND PATTERNS for a bit, you already know I get overly excited about MINOR DETAILS (AAAAAA).
THIS TIME IT'S THINGS LIKE...
HANDS!

Those aren't even Monkey Punch (i.e. original manga) hands, those are Green Jacket hands. AAA BLESS YOUR HAIRY HANDS LUPIN.
Also, LACES!!

ZENIGATA YOUR BEAUTIFUL PRACTICAL BADASS LACED SHOES. (That don't quite make spatial sense on that floor but whatever.)
You don't understand, there are DETAILED. SHOES. There are few things I get so overly excited about in this franchise (barring full ashtrays) as properly drawn shoes (see, they're very often not. Properly drawn, I mean). And what's even MORE delightful about this series, is that looking at the character sheets, you can see that all the male characters wear DISTINCTLY DIFFERENT FOOTWEAR.
AAAAAA DO YOU SEE WHY I'M SO THRILLED?
...No?
Okay.
Also, THE SSK. AAAA BEST CAR EVER.

A sidenote here to just properly appreciate this flashback because I just adore how ridiculously flamboyant Lupin is.

THIS IS YOUR GETAWAY THE COPS ARE ON YOUR HEELS YOU DON'T HAVE TO WEAR IT RIGHT AWAY YOU DOLT.
Also HE STOLE THE EMPIRE STATE BUILDING. Aaaa best thief.
Okay so moving on from visual stuff. This series is surprisingly dark. Fujiko was responsible for that not-particularly-evil-guard getting guillotined. That's cold.
Moving on: Oscar???

Oscarrr you androgynous man-voiced stiletto-wearing mysteryyyy. I don't know what to think about you yet beyond the fact that you signal that this series is going to have some sort of internal continuity and ongoing storyline which means I do get a bit excited at seeing you all the saaaame.
(If he's a lady in drag I'm going to be SO disappointed, mostly because there was a lady in drag called Oscar in a Red Jacket episode and DON'T YOU DARE REDO OLD STORYLINES).
Also I find it BEYOND HILARIOUS that it only took a few days before Zenigata/Oscar was a ship. ZENIGOSCAR. Most of all because I've lost complete track of who ships it for real and who jokes about it because Oscar has two lines and we can't get a consensus on ANYTHING about him with what little we know. But the blushing is intriguing yes.

(Though to be fair, new!Zenigata's voice is SO EXTRAORDINARILY DEEP AND MANLY I'd probably blush if he said my name too.)
Also I like the new eyecatch because it has A FUJIKO IMAGE and then it has A LUPIN IMAGE and I hope that means that they're both gonna stay equally important as the series progresses.
Still wondering what the Wuthering Heights references in the intro are supposed to mean. That story might be my biggest literary blindspot, so even if the references continue I'm not sure I'm going to catch them.
And wow, I managed to picspam this episode without a single boob shot. I apologize. Here's the best minor character instead:

Godspeed, balls-trippin' cultist.
