Why do we need skin anyway ?

Stars when you shine, you know how I feel
Scent of the pine, you know how I feel
Oh freedom is mine
And I know how I feel
I was planning to spend this evening watching my super duper special edition Withnail and I DVD (got it on sale! Whee!) but, for some strange reason, not eating anything at all today has messed with everything. I just never got around to eating. I've had half a pizza now (gee, my stomach'll love that in the morning) so I'm feeling a bit better, but there's still a slight headache and I know I wouldn't enjoy the movie as much as I should (still thinking it'll be much better with sound).
So, I worked my first shift at the home for homeless cats here in Oslo today. Sixty cats, and I want to adopt them all. Bad idea. And about half of them have bad cases of the common (cat) cold, so my work was carrying the cats up and down to the basement where the vet did her work. The sick cats all where extremely easy to work with (most of them weak and feverish, so that explained most of them) although one wasn't too keen on getting his shot, which is why I have about twenty bleeding gashes in my arm right now. Then I got some rubbing alcohol in the sores by mistake and...
Well, I'm sure there's somebody who knows enough curse words to describe how that felt, but I'm at a loss (which is why the sound that came from me sounded more like "Nnnmnnmmnmnggaaaah!!")
Right now Brownie is inspecting my wounds. Wet rat-nose is a wonderful soothener.
Anyway. Even though there was quite a bit of bloodshed at my first shift, I look forward to working there again on Thursday (hell, I'd make the poor bastard bleed, too, who dragged me out of bed when I was sick and held me down while some stranger pushed a syringe into my neck).
Now. I'm going to sleep like I've never slept before.
