It's just another day
Aug. 2nd, 2004 11:16 amSpinning: Belleville rendez-vous, Benoit Charest
Lyric sample:
Je veux pas finir ma vie à Honolulu
Chanter comme un oiseau çà n'se fait plus
Je veux ma voix brisée, triplement brisée
Swinguer comme une triplette de Belleville
Well, the day after tomorrow (Wednesday) I'm off for the Netherlands with my sister Tine (19). Yup, first foreign trip without our parents - can't wait. The main reasons we're travelling is for me to research my novel (now renamed Following Alastair) which takes place mostly in the Netherlands. First we stay in The Hague, travelling to Amsterdam and Rotterdam, and then we set off for Utrecht or wherever we please. Yay!
Today, however, I just want to relax - as usual by myself, I'm hoping to get some writing done - but right now contemplating to waste my time making something in photoshop. No reason, you see.
Anyroad, I've made two new drawings which are actually of the kind I can publish here. Peasants, rejoice!

Well, here I wanted to draw something from a reference, and hey! There was my left hand! I guess my extreme laziness had something to do with it. Yes, I have short fingernails. After I had drawn it, it felt so phoney to just let it hang there in mid-air, so I wanted it to touch something. Cue, male torso. That was drawn without any reference whatsoever, and as I don't have much first-hand experience with things like that, I'm quite pleased. Plus, nipples are fun. To draw, I mean. And since this was drawn referenced to my own hand, I guess this is one of the first heterosexual drawings I've made. Heh.

This one I just stumbled over in a shampoo advertisment by L'Oréal. It's been commented I so seldom draw anything feminine (apart from cute boys, of course) - so I had to try. And I liked the hair (it felt rather 60s-ish) And in the end, it felt like I had just drawn a female Alex DeLarge. Well, well - creepy's good.
I'll leave you now - and if there haven't been enough pictures today, I want to slap on one more, simply because it's so cute the world would have been a fouler place without it.

Have you ever seen somebody who looks more like the cutest cartoon character on earth? And I have a hangup on those glasses too. So cute!
