Between writing my grammar paper (on the grammatical functions of it and there, whoa what excitement), reading through and commenting on archeology papers, finally attending an archeology lecture (what, we're still doing Medieval cities?) I've also found the time to play with my new cellphone (a Nokia C5 - yes I'm going to continue to adamantly ignore smart phones) with the usual fervour I save especially for interactive gadgets.
Right now I'm deeply focused on finding just the right wallpaper (the C5 doesn't autocrop wallpapers and instead stretches them - which means I've been forced to fire up Photoshop), but as usual it's hard to find/create one that's nice to look at that also represents something I'm interested in (as usual I tend to favour the latter at the expense of the former), so right now I've got half a dozen comic related ones to choose between, as well as a few Lupin III ones. I've been toying with a HYDRA (as in the Marvel organization) one for quite a while but can't quite make it look good, and -
Well, can you believe they didn't have Dark Avengers: Siege in the Oslo comic shop either! What's a gal supposed to do to get more than the two first volumes of this title? So although I half decided I should stick to a title I was already reading (I eyed Vol. 2 of Invincible Iron Man, but the way it's coloured always nauseates me a bit; Everybody looks like they've recently bathed in baby oil), I eventually wound up with the first Immortal Iron Fist TPB.
And you know how HYDRA agents get killed off like flies in that, and when your first encounter with HYDRA was charmingly incompetent Bob, agent of HYDRA, in Cable & Deadpool, you kind of get the urge to show that you sympathize with everybody's favourite fictional terror organization, you know? And that's why I've been working on a HYDRA wallpaper for my Nokia.
(And in one of those decisions you wind up regretting for the entire seven-hour train trip home, I didn't buy #8 of Green Lantern: Emeral Warriors, on the flimsy excuse that I, you know, don't read it. But though I might not be a fan of Guy Gardner that cover is completely brilliant. Augh, why I didn't I spend those 10 kroners on it? They don't sell separate issues here in Bergen unless you've got a pull list.)
