Random drawing challenge
Apr. 30th, 2012 04:10 pmI've hardly drawn anything so far this year, but here's my answer to the "draw yourself as the last video game character you played as" challenge.
As I was drawing I figured hey - Ace Attorney characters tend to have distinct hair and speech patterns or buzzwords, I belong in this game. (Not sure what my buzzword would be though - I remember a friend teasing me for always answering "Ja jøss!" ("Yeah sure!") to questions when I got nervous, but I think I managed to drop that habit years ago).

Granted, my idea of "dreads whipping dramatically to the side" wound up looking very tentacle-y, but then again my dreads have a way of bending and sticking out in weird ways. Anyway, atrociously drawn dreads and my nose ring looking like a septum piercing aside, it was fun trying to do something in a slightly different style! I'm a fan of how the Ace Attorney games look (at least so far. I've seen pictures of Godot and I always think he's got a toaster stuck to his face).
As I was drawing this I also noticed Wright's lapel pin, the little ring; I wonder if it's just a design element or, you know, means anything.
I still haven't finished the final case though, but I think that might be me deliberately slowing myself down. A combination of "don't know if the other games are as much fun"/"can't find the next game in Norway"/"can't afford to order it from overseas yet"). Gonna find work, gonna get paid, gonna ignore food and rent and live in a cardboard box on the sidewalk playing dumb DS games. Magnificent plan.
Anyway, lately I've been trying to get back in the drawing habit by doodling when I've got nothing better to do. Not gonna lie, there's been a healthy helping of Dick Gumshoe doodles. And Larry Butz. Showing once and for all that when it comes to liking video game characters, I really haven't got a "type".
