My mp3-player (a.k.a. mobile phone) is chock full of music files, which means every time I add something I need to delete something else. It's the Death Match of Music.
Right now it's slowly being taken over by Bollywood music - I like Hindi-Anglo term Filmi, "of films", because it represents the amount of Hindi I've managed to pick up from movies (the -i suffix). Why I don't use the term "soundtrack" is a question of snobbery, I guess.
So lately I've been listening to the soundtrack of Jodhaa Akbar, which is an absolutely gorgeous movie with a fascinating plot, but with a terrible main cast. There goes my theory that it's hard to spot bad actors speaking a language you don't know. Now every time I see a cover featuring Hritik Roshan I think "What a beautiful idiot."
Anyway, here's the showstopper scene, which reminds me more than a little bit of the 'Prince Ali' song from Aladdin, as plebeian as that sounds. Maybe with a bit of Busby Berkely thrown in.
