Happy to follow orders, sah !
Aug. 15th, 2007 10:53 amAll she wants is to dance
That's why you'll find her on the floor
But you don't have a chance
Unless you move the way that she likes
That's why she's goin' home with me tonight
If you tell anyone I'm listening to Justin Timberlake, I shall KEEL U DED.
Whew, talk about complete turnaround. The last few days I've been lower than I've been for several years, just horribly, horribly depressed. I would have blogged about it, only I was too depressed. Yeah. Couldn't even bother with eating properly.
Today, I had to walk home in the rain, freezing cold, singing all the while. Skipping along, even. Today, everything is just so dandy!
How I did it? Well,
- I finally got some tips from the Veterinary school to find out how I can improve my chances for next year. So alright, I have to take some very expencive classes at a private school while I have to sort of fake doing the Feminism course (otherwise I lose my apartment), but finally I got some straight answers, and got told what to do. A bit suspect, don't you think, how I enjoy being told what to do?
- Bought a book. Which, you know, is rather foolish when you think about my economic situation, but I didn't mean to, honest. I've just been too depressed to even think about reading, so I thought a good project would be to reread all the Sherlock Holmes stories (why not, it only took me seven years last time), but this time in English. I was shocked when I found out that the Deichman library, probably the biggest library in Oslo, did not have a copy of A study in scarlet! I mean, yeah, it's probably the weakest novel them all, but I should think that the fact that it introduces Sherlock Holmes should be a redeeming quality. Anyway, I found an incredibly cheap paperback copy, so I couldn't help it, could I?
- Slept at my mother's, where we watched a movie and ate ice cream, which I think doctors should recommend more often.
- Got a new 'do. Well, it's the exact same 'do, but my mother braided some of it to get the hair out of my eyes. I've never had proper braids in my life, but I love it!
So next I intend to do my daily quota, maybe sleep a bit, go buy an extra hard drive (courtesy of my mum) and then to Snooky to watch a movie.
And, you know, all is well.

Date: 2007-08-17 08:26 pm (UTC)And then when I was in high school I took Mom's book and started practicing braiding my own hair in front of the bathroom mirror (with a handmirror to check the results on the back of my head). I got good enough at it to be doing it on almost a daily basis, and Mom wanted me to braid her hair, and I had to point out to her that I was used to working with my hands up behind my head and wouldn't be sure how to go about it on someone else. So she practiced with the mirrors until she got the trick of it. And I've gotten so used to having my hair in a single braid that I'm uncomfortable when it's loose.
Gah, that's a long comment on a brief remark. I'm very glad you've gotten some direction on how to improve your chances at veterinary school. And ice cream is good. As is hanging out with one's mother.

Date: 2007-08-18 06:37 am (UTC)No, not at all :-)
Well, everybody in my family (including the girls) have very short hair, so my mum haven't had anyone to practise on for, oh, about 18 years. I had semi-long hair when I was in kindergarten, but since my hair was so far, anything she tried to tame it with just slid off in a matter of an hour.
As for me, the only practise I ever got was braiding the hears on my "my little ponies", so I'm pretty much out of practise, too :-)
